A free day

How ironic.

I called to confirm jury duty last night and the recording told me that I did not need to appear and that I have served. In other words I was handed a free day at work.

And I was happy about this?

Has it gone this far? Has my life become so distorted that I was actually glad to get an extra day's worth of work?

This is me, mind you. I'm the guy who went to class, oh, three or four times a semester. I'm the guy who would cut his high school to hang out at someone else's (there were girls there). And now I'm pleased when I get to do more work.

This isn't growing up, people. It's growing stupid.

I'm on page 130-ish on my third novel. I could have written more while fulfilling my duties as a citizen than I would with my extra day.

So that is today's saga. Tomorrow I'll fill you in on my criminal record.
